The Stihl MS440 Pro Chainsaw is a heavy-duty saw designed for extreme conditions, such as when working in dense forest, when cutting hardwoods or when harvesting big timber. High engine power, combined with a relatively low weight and a highly effective anti-vibration system, allow the operator to work comfortably in the most testing situations. Easy starting is ensured by Stihl’s ElastoStart system and by the inclusion of a decompression valve. Other high-level features include the Quick Stop Super chain brake, which stops the saw when the rear handle is released, or in the event of kick-back; the Oilomatic chain lubrication system, which significantly reduces wear, consequently extending the life of the cutting attachment; the Rapid Super Comfort chain for an extremely smooth cutting performance, and Side Chain Tensioning which allows the chain tension to be easily adjusted, without risk of contact with the chain.
