The Stihl MS170-D Compact Chainsaw is a lightweight, easy to handle saw, and is perfect for general domestic use, such as chopping firewood, shaping shrubs and bushes and felling smaller trees. This saw is environmentally sound, thanks to the incorporation of a catalytic converter, which reduces the unburned components in the exhaust gas, thereby reducing emissions by 80%. Other leading-edge technologies utilised include an anti-vibration system, which reduces fatigue and enhances comfort; the Quick Stop Super chain brake, which stops the saw when the rear handle is released, or in the event of kick-back; the Oilomatic chain lubrication system, which significantly reduces wear, consequently extending the life of the cutting attachment and Side Chain Tensioning which allows the chain tension to be easily adjusted, without risk of contact with the chain.
